Tommy Cooper

Tommy Cooper the man they called the “King of Comedy”. Tommy past away on our screen live at the Royal Variety show 1984. That day comedy and magic lost a great ambassador to the arts, and the public lost a fantastic entertainer.

Tommy Cooper Tribute - Neil Stroud

Now 20 years or more later Neil Stroud has brought back the magic and comedy of that great man Tommy Cooper in this fantastic new tribute show Almost Magic. The show was launched for Children in Need in Hereford. The show featured Neil as Tommy performing some of his great sketches. And the Cooperettes supplied by the Dolloway Dancers. The show was a hit and has been performed across the country ever since at corporate functions and private events.

The show Tommy’s theme tune “The Sheikh of Araby” as performed many times by the great man, with comedy. As well as Tommy’s most loved magic like Bottle, Glass, Glass, and Bottle. Spoon Jar, Mr Marvel the mind reading Duck and the Celebrity Prediction to name but a few. And those famous groaner jokes that only Tommy could get away with like;

Throughout our marriage, my wife has always stood by my side. She had to.
We've only got one chair.

My back is killing me. I've strained it. I was playing piggy-back, with my little boy, and I fell off.

I went to the doctor the other day, I said I've broke my leg in three places. He said, 'Don't go to those places.'

I hurt my arm. I went to the Doctors to get it mended. After, I asked the Doctor if when it’s mended could I play the piano.
He said yes. I said, 'that’s funny I couldn't play it before.'

Just before the show the producer took me to one side. And left me there. He said, 'How do you feel tonight?' I said, 'A bit funny' - 'Well get out there before it wears off.'

A policeman stopped me the other night, he taps on the window of the car and says: 'Would you please blow into this bag,
Sir' I said: 'What for, Officer?' He says, 'My chips are too hot.'
This show is for young and old a like and is a must for any Tommy Cooper Fan. The Show runs for 45 minutes to an hour. Or have the split show x2 half an hour shows both of Tommy or Tommy vs. Fizzini show.
